Sequential Changes of T1 Relaxation time of the Brain on Gd-DTPA-enhanced Dynamic MRl with 0.35 Tesla ; Significance as Perfusion Pattern



Abstract
To study the blood perfusion pattern of the normal brain and brain tumor, we measured the signal intensity at the gray matter(frontal, parietal, occipital gray matter, putamen and thalamus), white matter(frontal, parietal and occipital),
peritumoral
edema and enhancing tumor on Gd-DTPA enhanced dynamic MRI(each of 15 cases), and calculated T1 relaxation time using version 5.31 program of MRT-35A MRI machine.
T1 relaxation time shortening of grav (74msec) and white(44msec) matters were minimal but more shortenings were noted at gray matters, and also minimal shortening was noted at peritumoral edema(61msec) but prominent at enhancing tumor(614msec) on

minutes images.
We concluded that these data offer the knowledge of the normal perfusion pattern of the brain(gray and white matter) and the abnormal perfusion pattern of blood brain barrier.
